I grew up as a swimmer and competed at National level until I was 18. I went to Bath Uni which was a triathlon High Performance Centre at the time and pretty soon I got hooked. On finishing Uni I took the decision to spend two years focusing solely on triathlon with the aim of representing GBR at senior level.

I grew up as a track runner and competed for the South West at 800 and 1500m until I was 18. Moving to Oxford Brookes Uni to study Human Biology I switched to cycling and got involved in mountain biking. After several years of working full time in marketing, I took the decision to follow my heart and let sport lead the way - retraining at the same time as developing my skills as a triathlete.
