Blood Pressure

Blood pressure refers to the force exerted by circulating blood on the walls of the blood vessels in the body. Abnormally high blood pressure is called hypertension and very low blood pressure is called hypotension and the causes of high blood pressure can be too much alcohol, stress, lack of regular exercise and too much salt in your diet. Health experts recommend that you should not consume more than 2,400mg of sodium per day which is the same amount as contained in a take away burger.

STANFORD, Calif. — Regular running slows the effects of aging, according to a new study from the Stanford University School of Medicine that has tracked 500 older runners for more than 20 years. Elderly runners have fewer disabilities, a longer span of active life and are half as likely as aging nonrunners to die early deaths, the research found. » read more
