... travelling and racing in some big events, it started with the Belfast international x-country where he placed 12th, but 3rd Brit. He follwed this up a week later with a better run in a much stronger field at the Great North cross country in Edinburgh where he finished 11th and 2nd brit, he had to out sprint Ricardo Ribas who placed in the top 15 at the european x. He then spent a few weeks training getting ready for the world trial race. The world trial was incorperated with the busa x country champs on a very tough course on the university of bath campus on Saturday 3rd February. The race started at a fierce pace but Ward went with it, by the third lap Ward had faded a little to 7th but on the last lap he got his legs going again and managed to pull through the field and finish in 5th, a second or two behind 4th place. After the race he was informed that he had been selected to go to the World Cross Country Championships in Kenya. He will now be flying out to Durban, South Africa for a warm weather camp before going on to Mobassa, Kenya for the race.
