CONTACTPHASE

As soon as your heel hits the ground, BROOKS® advanced technologies — customized to support the walker’s stride — kick in to ensure the smoothest and most stable ride possible.

HYDROFLOW® Dynamic viscous fluid units for heel and forefoot enhance midsole cushioning – attenuating shock with industry-leading cushioning and comfort.

MOGO Our new midsole compound provides a soft cushy first feel that lasts — without sacrificing stability. In-house and accredited third-party testing showed that in comparison with Substance 257™, MoGo offers a 40% increase in cushioning, 22% more energy return, and 33% less fatigue. Read more on page 6.

E-FUSION™ An engineered outsole material that delivers unsurpassed skid and abrasion resistance compared to traditional outsole materials.

HIGH PERFORMANCE RUBBER (HPR™) This durable rubber outsole compound offers higher performance than standard carbon black compounds.

HPR™PLUS A higher durability, abrasion-resistant rubber outsole compound that wears longer.

HPR™GREEN This durable and longwearing outsole compound is made with dispersed silica, resulting in premium wet-dry traction for excellent skidresistance and a more environmentally friendly composition.

MIDSTANCE PHASE

Our stabilizing Diagonal Rollbar™ is positioned in the midfoot region to address the walker’s tendency to pronate at a slower rate and later in the gait cycle. Meanwhile, our supportive DRB™ Accel provides mid-foot support and promotes natural movement of the walker’s stride from heel to forefoot.

PROGRESSIVE DIAGONAL ROLLBAR (PDRB™) Our dual density post is biomechanically engineered to allow for progressive pronation control and creates a smoother transition from the midstance phase into the propulsion phase.

DIAGONAL ROLLBAR™ (DRB) A high density post at the medial arch is engineered forpronation control and creates a smoother transition from the midstance phase into the propulsion phase.

DRB ACCEL™ Enhances tunable torsion of the midfoot. Shank-like thermoplastic devicesvary from single units of a set modulus, to dual unit versions of varied modulus (one tuned with higher stiffness for medial support, the lateral side less stiff to smooth the ride).

PIVOT™ Independent, mediallateral Pivot™ posts are shaped to minimize ground contact surface area, reducing the destabilitizing effect of trail irregularities.

ARCH POD™ supports the natural heel to toe movement in the midstance phase.

PROPULSION PHASE

The walker’s foot transitions smoothly between all phases of the gait cycle with most movement occurring in the forward direction. Flex grooves allow the shoe to bend and flex naturally as the foot moves from midstance to propulsion. When the foot reaches the toeoff position, FOREFOOT HYDROFLOW® and SUBSTANCE 257™ take over to enhance cushioning under the metatarsals—reducing the chance of ulceration for diabetics.

Already before, but also during the propulsion phase, BROOKS® podular technology comes into action. This technology is based upon the principle of biomechanical flex grooves. Through this we achieve exact control over where the shoe may change its form and where not. This allows for an anatomically correct fit, more flexibility in the sole and a more stabilized gait cycle.

E-FUSION™ Midsole/outsole compound is used to enhance resilience under the metatarsals, resulting in a more powerful propulsion.

HIGH PERFORMANCE RUBBER (HPR™) This durable rubber outsole compound offers higher performance than standard carbon black compounds.

BRS™ - BALLISTIC ROCK SHIELD Ballistic textile between outsole and midsole disperses pointload pressure from rocks and keeps a flexible forefoot for a terraincompliant ride.
