HYDROFLOW®

As soon as your heel hits the ground, BROOKS® advanced technologies — customized to support a walker’s stride—kick in to ensure the smoothest and most stable ride possible.

Flex grooves allow the shoe to bend and flex naturally as the foot moves from midstance to propulsion. When the foot reaches the toe-off position, Forefoot HydroFlow® and Substance 257™ take over to enhance cushioning under the metatarsals — reducing the chance of ulceration for diabetics.

Through application of pressure on the central chamber, the silicone oil mix, which is situated within, is compressed into the channels and outer ring. The chamber reduces its volume. Is the pressure reduced, the liquid then returns back to the centre chamber and is ready for the next pressure impact.

HydroFlow® is BROOKS® proven and successful cushioning system which is found in every BROOKS® shoe. HydroFlow® is based upon a chamber system that is filled with a thick silicon oil mixture, in that hen pressure is applied presses the silicon oil mix into the chambers. The then remaining air within these chambers is compressed, the main chamber loses volume and with that causes the cushioning effect.

FOREFOOT HYDROFLOW®

The forefoot of the runner steps through the gaitcycle with the direction of movement going forwards. Flex grooves allow the shoe, from the midstance through to the propulsion phase, at pre specified positions to naturally form itself to the positioning of the foot. Shortly before the propulsion phase, BROOKS® Forefoot HydroFlow® and Substance 257™ / MoGo cushion the foot, reducing any excessive strain.
